Concussion Prevention and Management
The health and wellbeing of all our participants is our number one priority.
Ringette Canada's updated policy on Concussion Prevention and Management provides the detailed plan that we will be following going forward.
Ringette Canada Policy - Concussion Prevention and Management
The updated policy outlines the procedures for recognizing and responding to concussions, including:
- Pre-Season Concussion Education Sheet- this will need to be signed off by the Coach, Assistant coaches or anyone on the bench/ Team Managers.
- Pre-Season Concussion Education Sheet - this will need to be signed off by the Athlete, Parent and or Guardian.
- Immediate removal from activity in the event of a suspected concussion.
- A thorough medical evaluation before returning to any form of activity.
- A gradual, step-by-step return-to-sport as recommended by a healthcare professional.
